San Diego Councilman Carl DeMaio last week launched a mobile application for “one-stop” access to city services.
The app, billed as a way to save taxpayer money by streamlining the way complaints are handled by city departments, has so far proved less efficient than traditional reporting methods.
Since the launch on May 19, 131 complaints have come in through the app for problems such as potholes, broken sidewalks, abandoned vehicles, busted lights, illegal dumping or graffiti. Of those, 16 were routed to city departments through the close of business Thursday.
None had been addressed.
